Bachelor Degree In Business?

Q: Are there any online cost effective Bachelor of Information Technology degrees available that are fully accredited (I may be doing a Masters afterwards)? Is national accreditation still the best measure? There are some cost efective ( 30$ a subject?? ) courses and even degrees on the web but they never mention anything about any accreditation (geuss they're not).

A:I've been away from this newsgroup for some time now, and wow things sure have changed. Oh well, it does appear that there are some still using the group to gather information on degrees. I've sent several of my own students to FHSU both for their traditional on-campus and the online programs. They are really student oriented and pretty good to work with. The degree is titled, Information Networking and Telecommunications (INT). It is technically a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree, but that doesn't mean it's truly liberal studies. They also have a masters degree online. The program is very focused on computer systems and networks. The best thing is that the degrees are part of the CISCO academy, so they're not only accredited by a regional accrediting agency (The North Central Association) but also by one of the world's leading providers of networking gear. There are numerous low-cost BS Computer Information Systems degrees from regionally accredited schools. My first two suggestions would be Thomas Edison State College . in NJ (a state school that will allow you to do 100% of your credits nonresident, via distance learning, portfolio learning, exams, and other innovative means) Excelsior College in New York (similar program, but private

school... almost as cheap though) You may also want to post a message at degreeinfo.com, where almost all of the regulars that used to post here now hang out (There have been some terrible spam problems here.) I have read all your site with great interest. Congradulations on a great resource. It must have been hard work to compile all that info in such an easy to understand format. Just one question though. I have about all of the points still to make on my Bachelor degree. By that I mean I only have about 20 points secured by my calculations. How long would I realisticaly be doing my degree? 1,5-2 years seems about realistic. Those 4 weeks are out I'm afraid!
