Baby Nursery

Decorating a baby nursery is often one of the most fun aspects of having a baby, but it can also be a major hassle as well. There are so many choices when it comes to decorating a baby nursery that it can often be difficult to make any solid decisions. If the soon to be parents do not know the sex of their baby beforehand, there are always questions about colors to use that will be neutral enough for a boy or a girl. Traditionally, the neutral colors were pastel yellows or greens. These days, however, parents are starting to use other colors like reds, purples, and orange. Baby nursery decorations tend to have themes too. The themes are most often reflecting movie characters and books these days rather than the ducks, train, and dolls of the past. It can be very frustrating for many because there is so many themes and popular décor to choose from these days. Popular themes for girls these days are: Dora the Explorer, Barbie (still popular), and Disney princesses. Popular boys themes are: Harry Potter, Shrek, and as always, Hot Wheels cars. The older themes of the past like barn yard animals and boats etc. will always be in vogue, but parents are beginning to move into the movie trends such as Finding Nemo, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Shark Tales. As long as the movies and popular TV shows keep coming out, there will never be a shortage of themes. Generally, the theme of the room is decided before anything else so that you can add accessories and paint colors that are centered around the themes. Baby nursery furniture is the next step in decorating for baby. Cribs are usually standard. It is the inside blankets, sheets, and bumper pads that are theme oriented. Rocking

chairs, changing tables, wall hangings, boarders, bassinets, and dressers or night stands are all traditional baby nursery items. Parents these days are far more creative than they used to be in decorating for a baby nursery, and bright colors are fast replacing pastels and white. If you are about to have a new baby come into your life, exploring some popular themes can make it much easier to make the transition from baby nursery to toddler bedroom. After all, the baby will not always be a baby and as attractive and cute as a neatly rowed duck looks or tiny trains etc. can be, the baby will not always be a baby and because of this, movie and character driven themes are easier.
