Baby Bedding
Baby bedding is available in an array of styles, colors and fabrics. While many are homemade others are mass produced in a manufacturing plant. Baby bedding includes items such as sheets, pillow cases, pillow shams, comforters, blankets, receiving blankets, soaker pads, and side cushions for the perimeter of the baby's crib, also available are bed skirts and canopies. The bassinette also has its own set of bedding as do the changing table and stroller or buggy. The baby pillow is mainly for show and should not be used for the newborn. The baby bedding as of late resembles the bedding on the adult bed only in a much smaller scale. The days of the century were interesting as far as baby bedding. During that time most bedding was composed of patch quilts, usually telling a story of the baby's birth and what was happening around him/her at that time. Things like the time and date of birth were told with needlepoint. The antique dealers are most interested in this type of memorabilia. Especially items dated for the civil war era. Sugar sacks and flour sacks were useful as linen and bedding during this time. Present day item may also include bits and pieces of homemade trims and borders. Baby bedding can be made
