Article On Sexual Harassment
Q: I kept wondering all through reading the article, why don't these men
have other recourses? Isn't it illegal to hassle people like that, as
a general thing? Don't people have the legal responsibility not to
grab each other by the testicles in the workplace? Many of the
behaviors which were described in the article certainly sounded like
minor assault to me. But that was never taken up in the article. The
only issue they were interested in was the flawed nature of sexual
harrassment law.
A:I think it pretty clearly *is* assault. What are the probable actual
consequences to a charge of that kind of assault, vs. the probable
actual consequences of a charge of sexual harrassment? That may be
why there's so much interest?
