Are There Any Good Motorcycle Driving Schools In The Bay Area?
Q: Are there any good Motorcycle Driving Schools in the Bay Area?
A:Do you have a motorcycle license already? How much experience do you have?
If you have none, then the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) offers
courses for the beginner. Their phone is (800) CC-RIDER. If you pass
their course, you do not have to take the riding portion of the DMV
test. All you have to pass is the written tests.
If you have a some experience and you are looking to gain confidence
cornering on your bike, I would recommend the CLASS or STAR Motorcycle
schools. These schools are run on race tracks such as Sears Point,
Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and Buttonwillow. Here is their contact
information:
CLASS - http://www.classrides.com/ (805) 933-9936
STAR - http://www.starmotorcycle.com/ (805) 658-6333
There is also the dP Safety School. I do not have their contact
information. Personally, if you are new to track schools, I would stick
with CLASS or STAR. CLASS and STAR are oriented towards the street
rider, at least in their "B" groups. The instructors are all friendly
and use positive reinforcement techniques.
