Acid Reflux During Pregnancy
Q: I have 2 children now and would like to have another
one. I have a condition called acid reflux disease..caused by a hiatal
hernia. Basically I get really bad heartburn because the acid in my
stomach goes back up my esophagus. I have been on a med (prilosec) for 4
years..after my last pregnancy. I had to come off this because it is not
safe to take during pregnancy and we want to start trying for our third
soon. Anyways...I am now on prescription strength zantac (150 mg 2 times a
day). My OB/GYN okayed this during a pregnancy. It helps but I still get
a little heartburn. Just wondering if anyone else has been on this or has
any other suggestions for this problem. I welcome any suggestions!! Has
anyone ever been on a higher dosage than 300 mg per day. I found one
person that said she was able to take 600 mg per day during her pregnancy
so I am going to see what my doctor days about that.
Can anyone give me some more information about this please?

reflux was exacerbating my asthma and causing bad attacks. Boy, do I wish
I had started on this stuff sooner....it is great, and according to my OB
safe for pregnancy. Reflux and asthma symptoms much better. A for higher
dosages, I don't know - you would have to ask your doctor. Other things
that helped me:
