When you decide to become a crime scene investigator you have a lot of responsibility to take on. This is no nine to five job that you will be doing. You will losing a lot of sleep. There will be times when you just lie down and close your eyes and the phone will ring. You have to answer and you have to go to the crime scene no matter what sort of excuses you could muster up. Even if a crime scene investigator hasn’t slept in over 24 hours, he/she will have to be able to get every last bit of evidence on the crime scene. When you decide to get into this field of work, you must have good ambition and not give up, no matter what else may be going on in your life. You can’t get distracted from your work. If you do, you could miss a very important piece of evidence that could be very critical to the crime and in solving it. A crime scene investigator may not be in the media’s light on many cases, but their efforts are not ignored. If you choose to become a crime scene investigator you will be overseeing very complex crime scenes. These all include homicide, sexual assaults,

home invasions, property crimes, armed robberies, and the list can go on and on. A crime scene investigator works in their office usually Monday through Friday and on standby duty on the weekends and after hours. They are also expected to respond to those emergency calls which can be at any time of the day or night. To be a crime scene investigator, you must have a good eye for detail, be in good physical shape, know how to use and handle a firearm, and be in outstanding mental health. You must be able to work in any type of weather conditions as well.
