A Credit Rating Check

When you’re trying to rent an apartment, you will find that the company will run a credit rating check on you. They will take your basic information and put it into the computer to get your score from the three different bureaus. Your score will tell them if you’re a reliable renter and a person that pays bills on time. Your credit score will reflect your past rental history as well. It will show if you didn’t pay your rent on time, if you still owe a rental company money and so on. If you’re trying to get an apartment, it’s crucial that you have good credit or you just might be turned down. If you do have bed credit, there is still some hope for you though. If you’re moving in with someone, their credit- if it’s good- could be enough to get you both the apartment. But, if you both have a negative credit rating check, you could be in trouble. To still get the apartment, you will need to have

a co-signer. So, once you get your apartment, whether it’s with a co-signer or not, it will be time to work on your credit rating. To raise your credit score, start making regular payments on all accounts that you have. If you have bills that have gone into collections, make sure that you pay them off. Once you have done this, wait three months and then get a credit check. You will want to make sure that all accounts you have paid off reflect your current status. Sometimes, you might pay an account, but by some error, your credit will still show it as unpaid. That is why it is so important to keep up with your credit and to get your credit rating check yourself on a regular basis.
